Dr. Terry White, DVM

Dr. Terry White began his distinguished veterinary career in the Midwest after earning his degree from The Ohio State University, School of Veterinary Medicine. About a decade ago, he relocated to the Pacific Northwest to be closer to family, drawn by the region's beauty and the opportunity to build deeper connections with loved ones.

Throughout his career, Dr. White has cultivated a diverse background in small animal medicine, encompassing practice development, management, and clinical care. His experiences range from establishing and owning smaller clinics to serving as the medical director of the largest multi-specialty veterinary practice in the Portland area. A significant portion of his career has been devoted to emergency medicine and surgery, where he thrives in high-pressure situations, providing critical care to animals in need.

Dr. White is known for his compassionate and thoughtful approach to veterinary medicine. He values the relationships he builds with both patients and their owners, focusing on open, honest communication. He takes pride in addressing client concerns, offering insights into their pet's health, and identifying additional areas of care to ensure pets live their healthiest lives. While he enjoys all aspects of medicine and surgery, he is particularly passionate about working with pets facing acute issues and emergencies.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. White has a longstanding commitment to mentoring the next generation of veterinarians, sharing his expertise and fostering growth in the field.

Dr. White has been married to his wife Jolene for 44 years, and together they have four children and 11 grandchildren. His recent move to the Upper Valley of Hood River allows him to live near some of his grandchildren, deepening those cherished relationships. Over the years, Dr. White has kept a variety of animals, from horses and cattle to goats, chickens, cats, and dogs. His fondness for goats, in particular, has left him with lasting memories that inspire his dedication to helping clients build strong, healthy bonds with their own pets.

In his downtime, Dr. White enjoys spending time with family, savoring good wine, playing cards, and taking in the stunning evening sunsets over Mt. Hood. His personal experiences and professional expertise make him an invaluable asset to his community and the veterinary field.
